In Praying Circles around your Children, Mark Batterson quotes "You'll never be a perfect parent, but you can be a praying parent." Mark talks about leaving our children a prayer legacy. In his book, he introduces Honi and the Legend of the Circle Maker. Mark gives five ways to circle our children in prayer. He quotes scripture, and shares promises from God's Word along with personal experiences from His life and the lives of others who have prayed.
My Thoughts:
I keep some type of a prayer journal. Some of these concepts are already in my personal journal, others I am yet to include. The important thing that author stresses is TO PRAY!! Don't give up because you don't see your answers immediately. Trust God to be faithful to His promises. Your prayers carry on long after you are gone. This book is only about 100 pages. I read a little each day with my personal devotions. I am definitely keeping a copy for to refer back to often.

Mark Batterson serves as the lead pastor of National Community Church in Washington, D. C. Mark is the author of several bestselling books, including New York Times Bestseller - The Circle Maker and In a Pit with a Lion on a Snowy Day. He and his wife, Lora, live on Capitol Hill with their three children. You can visit his website HERE.

You can get this book through ZONDERVAN or on Amazon for around $2.99. I think the e-book is even less.  It is definitely worth it.

    I don't have a special method of praying for my kids. We pray together in their beds each night individually. It's my special time one on one with them that I treasure. This is a book I would love to read!

    I don't have a special method, but I pray for them through out the day. We also pray together before the get out of the car in the morning and again in the evening.

    I don't have a special method...sometimes I pray for all of them in general...other times I pray specific for each individual child.

    I pray with my children every morning, and take them to the altar so the pastor can pray with us in agreement on Sundays. I pray for them, and recently read about choosing specific scriptures to pray for each one of them. Although I am not perfect as a parent, I want so much to be the best parent I can be with the tools I have. Prayer is one of the best tools in my box!

    I follow blog and facebook and talk about you all the time BFF! We pray off and on all day long. If we hear sirens or a friend text with a special need....we drop everything and pray specifically for that person. We also have a jar that we fill full of names of people we want to pray for I.e. pastor...Sunday school teachers...neighbor...unsaved. loved ones...etc. we take turns pulling a name out every morning during devotions for prayer.
