Imago Dei - Image of God

Invisible is an incredibly written story about three ladies each in a different walk of life, but with so much in common to each other. All are struggling, or have struggled to accept who they are. Each one has endured some form of emotional trauma that has deeply wounded them and made them desire invisibility. Elly - chef and cafe owner is hiding behind her weight.  Sabina - tall, slender psychologist claims she has come to heal, but could she also be hiding? Twila recently came out of hiding, but is still attempting to deal with the emotional issues that trigger her eating disorder, and make her desire to be invisible. As these women's lives intertwine, they begin to help each other see how God created them in His image and made them beautiful.

My Thoughts:
Invisible was different than most, not overly romantic, not much of a mystery, but very deep. It tugs at your soul strings. I am sure most anyone could find at least one thing in common with this book. One minute I laughed, the  next I cried as these ladies stories unveiled. I loved the way the author intertwined three completely different characters on the surface with equal needs underneath. The importance she put on recognizing our inner beauty vs how we see ourselves outwardly, and the fact that in each one of us is a reflection of our Creator. This is a powerfully moving story. A must read in my opinion!

About the Author:
Ginny has an incredible way with words. She is a speaker and life coach. She ministers to women wounded by sexual trauma. You can find out more about her  on Ginny's Website.  She is also on Facebook and Twitter. Ginny's other books are Words and Lost and Found.

Share Your Thoughts:
How do you see yourself?  Realizing we are created in the image of God certainly warrants a change in our perspective, especially if we have a negative self-image. Are you a reflecting your Creator?

Come back again this week for more on Ginny and her newest book Invisible!

  3. Sometimes it helps me to step back and remind myself that I am fearfully and wonderfully made in HIS image. Not in the image that I have fashioned for my life, or the image my parents wanted for my happiness, but in HIS image. This book sounds like a great read. I will add it to my list of Nexts!
