Wishing on Willows - Review

Recently I received a copy of the following book in exchange for my honest review. This post will have book purchase advertisement. The FTC requires you be given fair warning! Now relax and enjoy the review.

Does a second chance at life and love always involve surrender?
A three-year old son, a struggling café, and fading memories are all Robin Price has left of her late husband. As the proud owner of Willow Tree Café in small town Peaks, Iowa,  she pours her heart into every muffin she bakes and espresso she pulls, thankful for the sense of purpose and community the work provides.
So when developer Ian McKay shows up in Peaks with plans to build condos where her café and a vital town ministry are located, she isn’t about to let go without a fight.
As stubborn as he is handsome, Ian won’t give up easily. His family’s business depends on his success in Peaks. But as Ian pushes to seal the deal, he wonders if he has met his match. Robin’s gracious spirit threatens to undo his resolve, especially when he discovers the beautiful widow harbors a grief that resonates with his own.
With polarized opinions forming all over town, business becomes unavoidably personal and Robin and Ian must decide whether to cling to the familiar or surrender their plans to the God of Second Chances.

My Thoughts:
If a book can evoke all kinds of different emotions, this book is it!  Sometimes, I just wanted to sit and cry with Robin. Sometimes I wanted to laugh. There were also times when I got angry! Oh My! I love it when I read a book that makes me feel like I am there; Living it, in a sense. You feel like one of the town's people. Like you know Robin and her family. Like you've been to her café.  You get all these mixed emotions about her struggles, her losses, her passions. I totally understood Robin, her fears, hopes, her dreams. The sadness at once again feeling like she was losing control of her life. Wondering how God can take something so awful that is happening and turn it into good. The struggle to let go, when you want so much to hold on. Trying to decide whether to press on or give in. It is a page turning book, and the deeper you get, the more you will not want to put it down. This book can be read alone, or if you choose you could read the first book Wildflowers from Winter also. I read the first book last year. You can read my review HERE.

Your Thoughts:
Robin is struggling with letting go. Life is full of changes, sometimes even the good changes can be difficult at first. Is there a change you've experienced that you struggled with at the beginning but it turned out to be for the best? I would love to hear from you. Just drop me a comment below.

Rhyming verse, calming artwork, and whimsical renditions of favorite farm animals in their cozy beds will make this bedtime book a favorite for years to come. My Thoughts: This book is so adorable. I am already loving that one day I will be able to use it with my grandchildren. It is a hard back padded type cover. The pages are board book style with beautiful illustrations, brightly colored and full of the most adorable farm animals you've ever seen. They will capture your heart, as well as you child's.  Each page consists of a different animal going to sleep, written in poetic style with the animal sound and name of the animal at then end of each prose. The last page affirms how God made all these animals and "me too"! The child will learn about

My Body's Mine by Kayla Marnach

My Body's Mine helps children learn they have the rights to their body. Told through rhyme from a child's point of view this book on boundaries empowers each child to say no when others approach them in ways that make them uncomfortable. It also gives clear instructions on what to do if they are approached in an unwanted manner. The questions at the end of the book provides an easy transition for counselors and parents to open a discussion to prevent abuse or to further explore if abuse has occurred.
