A couple weeks ago, my youngest daughter cut off her long locks of hair. Summer time is here and it is getting a little hot. It was hard to keep up with combing all those tangles out each time she jumps in and out of the pool. So after some convincing, mostly because she had in her head, that long hair made her smart, we decided to go get it cut.I wasn't sure if she would actually have enough to make a donation, but the beautician said YES! So within a few days, we mailed off her pony tail to Locks of Love.
Locks of Love is an organization that makes hair pieces for those children who do not always have the means to afford them. Their mission is "to return a sense of self, confidence and normalcy to children suffering from hair loss by utilizing donated ponytails to provide the highest quality hair prosthetics to financially disadvantaged children." The children receive hair prostheses free of charge or on a sliding scale, based on financial need. 
10 inches of hair measured tip to tip- hair must be in a pony tail or braid
- hair must be washed and clean but needs to be dry.
- place in a plastic bag, then a padded envelope
- fill out donation form or include your full name and physical or email address
- mail to Locks of Love at:

ReplyDeleteI love her short hair! My girls have never had it quite long enough to donate to locks of love, but Pantene has a program where they take hair to make wigs for women with cancer. It doesn't have to be quite as long and my girls have donated it twice.
