My Intentional Mondays

This week was a bit off kilter for me. Holidays and snow days threw my schedule off a little. But it was also a good week for making memories, playing in the snow, taking beautiful pictures, and enjoying my kids. As well as, getting a little extra housekeeping done such as organizing my sewing nook which tends to get out of hand quickly when I am working there. I even had time to work on some of the Bible covers I am making.

My reading schedule consisted of:
Finishing Garden of Madness Audiobook
I can't wait to review it. Once you get into this story, it is hard to turn it off. And I love how it makes the Bible and Babylon come to life.  I am always fascinated by God's hand even in the most seemingly insignificant things. We have been studying a little about the old Babylon in school lately, and once again, a book has come at the perfect time, and I didn't plan it like that. The kids and I battled, kindly, whether to listen to mom's book or watch TV. I haven't yet figured out how to put it on my iPod, but I did come up with some creative ways to keep them busy while listening to my book. In the end, even my oldest daughter got caught up in the story and now she is going too have to start from the beginning and listen to the whole thing.

And continuing The Peaceful Wife
This is one you want to meditate on as you read. I am a little over half way. Maybe by next week I will be ready to review it.

This week I will be reviewing:
a children's book about being buddies

The Best Yes (audiobook)

With This Ring

I also started a couple new books:
Ashes to Ashes - medieval time period.
Ashes to Ashes
A body is found in the town's Mid-summer's Eve bon-fire after the embers died down. Who's body? How did he die?

I Give You Authority

A book on spiritual warfare. I am reading it slow and with prayer and meditation.

How was your week? Did you get snow?
Where we live, any little amount of snow means school cancellations. Mostly because even if the snow has melted off in the valley, the mountain snow usually lasts quite a bit longer, which makes it dangerous for the buses to run.

    1. Melissa, I know what you mean. I don't mind a little snow for the kids sake. They really love to go out and play in it, but personally, I love sunshine and warmer temps. Today we are getting rain.

My Body's Mine helps children learn they have the rights to their body. Told through rhyme from a child's point of view this book on boundaries empowers each child to say no when others approach them in ways that make them uncomfortable. It also gives clear instructions on what to do if they are approached in an unwanted manner. The questions at the end of the book provides an easy transition for counselors and parents to open a discussion to prevent abuse or to further explore if abuse has occurred.
