Without Warning by Lynette Eason

I love a good mystery and this is definitely one of those!

Daniel, ex-marine, owner of several restaurants, and guardian of his niece - whose parents were killed in an accident is seemingly living the sweet life. He lives in a neighborhood of pilots wit an airstrip in his back yard and a plane in his hanger. If he wanted to, he could very well just set back and take it easy, but instead Daniel enjoys being actively involved in his business management.

Then the unlikely hits, a body is found in the basement of his restaurant. One that totally casts suspicion his way, until one of his other restaurants burns down. Not coming up with any personal enemies makes it even more difficult to figure out who might be behind the attacks.

His niece Riley's self-defense instructor is also part of a team of bodyguards. They quickly become involved as the situation becomes extremely precarious for both Daniel and his niece. How long will it take to figure out who is behind this mess, what do they want, and how many people will be hurt in the process?

Lynette will keep you on the edge of your seat as you read through  this suspenseful, thrilling mystery. You may think you have it figured out, but I guarantee you a few unexpected twists towards the end that will surprise you and possibly even shock you!  This book was the second in the series, but I was able to read it as a stand alone without any problems. I finished in record time, and was extremely disappointed when I did have to put it down. I am eager to read book one, as well as, the next one in the series - coming out Feb 2017.

I was blessed with this book courtesy of Revell Publishing in exchange for my honest opinion.

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
Intensity. Skill. Tenacity.
The bodyguards of Elite Guardians Agency have it all.
Katie Singleton, a partner with the Elite Guardians Protection Agency, stumbles upon her next assignment quite by accident. Spotting blue lights at a familiar restaurant, she stops to investigate, only to discover that owner Daniel Matthews has become the target of someone who will go to any lengths to put him out of business.

Daniel might be concerned, but he's not convinced that a bodyguard--and a female one at that--is necessary. A new attack and his niece's urgings are enough to make him reconsider. He and Katie must figure out who's behind the intimidation and threats--before a would-be killer strikes again.
