My Intentional Mondays (On a Random Weekday)

Fishing....
Seems to be the trend these weekends...
But I love it! As I strive to be INTENTIONAL in bonding with my family and my teenage grand-kids, if fishing is what they love to do, then a fishing we will go. Plus, what better place to read than soaking up some sun, enjoying a warm breeze, with my favorite people in the beautiful nature created by the Creator. Not only that... but this weekend was a success! Nine fish! Ten, if you count the teeny one I caught and released. We had a good fish fry (baked for me, thank you, with a bit of lemon juice and lemon pepper for flavor).

The kids even got to enjoy a little swimming... or hand standing in the water. And even the dog got to go! I have been reading an amazing book on contentment and honestly... this to me is a wonderful picture of contentment. I was thinking at the pond as my daughter was rowing me in the boat, how simple life would be... with a small cabin, a pond to fish, less "stuff", the clothes on our backs, food (or fish), etc... You kind of get the point don't you. This is not to say I don't like my stuff. It was more of a contented feeling. The one that says no matter what you have, Jesus is enough, and all I need. Everything else I should be counting as blessings. And I am. (More on that later...)

It's been a busy week, hence the Monday posting showing up not on a Monday. But hey, it's my blog right? And I can pack it full of surprises.

Now for the books I am devouring. I have had so many AMAZING books to read this week, I just can't read them fast enough. Because, of course, no matter how much I love to read... there is always other things that are a priority, and can't be shirked!

I also started and finished The Wedding Shop; a book I couldn't put down and fell completely in love with. Way to go Rachel with another successful hit.
For meditation I am reading Evenings with Tozer. I like Tozer! He inspires me, and the title of this book to me spells out a warm cup of tea, coffee or hot cocoa, a crackling fireplace and my Bible; and maybe a bit of beautiful piano music flowing in the background.
