To Joey, With Love Movie Review - Includes a GIVEAWAY

They believed God would give them a great story … and He did.
Husband-and-wife singing duo Joey+Rory wanted more to life … so they chose less. In preparation for the birth of their child, the couple simplified their lives by putting their music career aside and staying at home, planting roots deep in the soil of their small farm, and the community they loved.

Experience the incredible true story of Joey and Rory Feek in the poignant new film TO JOEY, WITH LOVE. Intimately filmed by the couple over two and a half years, the movie documents the stirring journey of the 2010 Academy of Country Music Top New Vocal Duo.
TO JOEY, WITH LOVE takes moviegoers from the birth of their daughter Indiana, born with Down Syndrome, through Joey’s struggle with and ultimate surrender to cancer—all amidst their never-ending hope in something far greater. God gave Joey+Rory a love story for the ages, one that is sure to inspire hope and faith in all who experience it.

My Thoughts:
I can honestly say, I don't really think I had heard of Joey and Rory before watching this movie. It was funny, because I would be telling people about it, and they are like, yeah, I followed that story. Me, I don't watch much TV so, I somehow I missed it. I feel honored to have had the privilege of watching this beautiful film.
It's a compelling, moving story of a couple in love, with a full life, who is dealt a number of challenging circumstances, which they use to glorify God. It is filmed somewhat like a documentary, but still grips your heart and captures your attention.
This story will tug at your emotions (so grab some tissues in advance) and motivate you to appreciate the simple things in life, take nothing for granted, and enjoy time with family, friends, and community. Life is short and none of us are guaranteed another day or an easy journey. It will make you want to love deeply, hold things lightly, and hang on to faith and hope. The Feeks let God write their story and have made a lasting legacy for all to see.
I received a preview opportunity of this movie from icon media group to review. All opinions are my own.

  4. I followed them! WE saw them when they were on the country version of the voice. I love their hymn album and their Christmas song is one of my favorites. I love how they trusted the Lord even when they knew she was dying. When she was sick, she sang "It is well with my soul". I don't know if I could do that. Have young kids, know that I am dying and trust the Lord that he will look out for them. I hope I would. Their story is inspirational. I would love to win the DVD. I have been wanting to see it for ages. Thanks for the chance to enter :) Sandy

Congratulations to our Winner - Lynne In  Night Night , Farm by Amy Parker, parents and little ones will unwind as sweet farm animals in pj's say goodnight to their farm, their mommies and daddies, and to God. Rhyming verse, calming artwork, and whimsical renditions of favorite farm animals in their cozy beds will make this bedtime book a favorite for years to come. My Thoughts: This book is so adorable. I am already loving that one day I will be able to use it with my grandchildren. It is a hard back padded type cover. The pages are board book style with beautiful illustrations, brightly colored and full of the most adorable farm animals you've ever seen. They will capture your heart, as well as you child's.  Each page consists of a different animal going to sleep, written in poetic style with the animal sound and name of the animal at then end of each prose. The last page affirms how God made all these animals and "me too"! The child will learn about

My Body's Mine by Kayla Marnach

My Body's Mine helps children learn they have the rights to their body. Told through rhyme from a child's point of view this book on boundaries empowers each child to say no when others approach them in ways that make them uncomfortable. It also gives clear instructions on what to do if they are approached in an unwanted manner. The questions at the end of the book provides an easy transition for counselors and parents to open a discussion to prevent abuse or to further explore if abuse has occurred.
