Happy New Year!!

2017
It's the beginning of a new year!
Have you made new years resolutions?
I am not really making any...
I do have some goals

  • Devoting more time to concentrated prayer
  • Eating Healthier
  • Improving my organizational skills
  • Working on improving/expanding my sewing business
  • Focusing on celebrating a specific day of rest (Sabbath) to tune in to God and family
I also plan on making a few subtle changes to the blog this year. They may or may not be noticeable to my readers, but hopefully these changes will be an improvement and a stress reliever for me.

I love blogging, but I have over-committed myself too many times lately with all the great books that have been available. This year I am planning on cutting back a bit, blogging posts Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays with a few exceptions. As much as I love reading and blogging, it is time consuming and takes a lot of time away from other projects I need and want to be working on, and from my family time. The kids are getting older and time seems so short.
So, I will be working on saying, "No" to myself and my love for books, when I am presented with too many choices and tempted to take on more than I can handle efficiently. And instead choose wisely and specifically those things which will benefit my family, myself, and bring joy.

How about you?
Have you made any new years resolutions? What goals have you set for this year?
I would love to hear about them.

  1. Great goals with both spiritual and physical impact! I should just copy your list and make it mine also, Amy - except for the sewing, that is. I had a similar book-related goal last year, only to discover how difficult (impossible?) it is to turn down books that sound good. Then I get frustrated at not having time to read some books that I think would be outstanding. I hope you'll blog periodically about how these goals are working out. I love keeping up with you, Amy!

    1. Thanks for your encouragement Carole. I myself make this goal every year it seems, then somewhere along the way... I get carried away and am back in the same rut, where I feel like I don't even have time to enjoy the books I am reading but am rushing through them. And I get frustrated too! Writing the reviews also takes time, which is of course worth it to get to read all these awesome books, but I need to remember that! It's not just the reading, but putting my thoughts into words.
I cherish your friendship and enjoy keeping up with you also! Many blessings to you in this new year.
