Apologetics Study Bible for Students with GIVEAWAY - Ended

WINNER IS DAWN SMITH!!

Like the acclaimed Apologetics Study Bible that has sold 115,000+ copies, the Apologetics Study Bible for Students will anchor younger Christians in the truths of Scripture by equipping them with thoughtful and practical responses for whenever the core issues of their faith and life are challenged.
Multiple research studies have shown that spiritual focus often weakens among teenagers as they head into the attention-dividing realm of young adulthood. Up to 66% of them leave church altogether. The Apologetics Study Bible for Students works against that trend by helping this audience begin to better articulate its beliefs. In addition to the complete HCSB text and dozens of articles collected from today’s most popular youth leaders, including general editor Sean McDowell, this new study Bible also includes:
• Two-color design-intensive layout on every page for the visual generation
• Sixty “Twisted Scriptures” explanations
• Fifty “Bones & Dirt” entries (archaeology meets apologetics)
• Fifty “Notable Quotes”
• Twenty-five “Tactics” against common anti-Christian arguments
• Twenty “Personal Stories” of how God has worked in real lives
• Twenty “Top Five” lists to help remember key apologetics topics

I received this Bible for review from B&H Publishing for the purpose of review.

My Thoughts:
What is apologetics? Apologetics is defense, offense, and hope. A defense of the Christian faith and explanation of why we believe what we do. It isn't about winning an argument, it's about winning people. This Bible will help you do just that. Defend your faith, and understand and be able to explain why you believe what you do.

The things I liked about this Bible were:
The version - Holman Christian Standard.
The introduction pages at the beginning of each book of the Bible that gives background, insight to the author and culture of the times, and a timeline of historical events in that era.
I liked the articles and personal stories inserted in multiple places explaining what God says about different topics and personal application.
I also like the explanation given on twisted scriptures. So many times we read a scripture that may be used in other religions out of context and having an explanation of how they use it, or get that idea, and why that doesn't line up with other parts of the Word of God is very helpful.
It also gives alot of insight into some other religions that are not Christian based and how to refute their false claims with God's Word.
There are many more assets to this - Tabs for easily finding the books of the Bible, a very nice layout, and much more. The only thing that I personally am not too fond of is the hard back. I like soft back better, but that in itself does not take away from the treasure this book clearly is and the value it contains.

We need to be educated! Many cults spend years teaching and disciplining their followers. It is important to understand the Word of God as a whole, and be able to defend our faith. I would certainly recommend this Bible.

I am soo excited to have the privilege of giving away a copy of this awesome Bible.

  1. I love that you keep having giveaways! It's like Christmas everyday when I get on my computer. I have always been a KJV/NKJV person but I do like other translations. I think my new favorite is the HCSB. I recently got a Bible that was this translation and I love it! I haven't studied apologetics but I would love to. I know they are awesome.

Night Night Farm by Amy Parker w/ Giveaway - Ended

Congratulations to our Winner - Lynne In  Night Night , Farm by Amy Parker, parents and little ones will unwind as sweet farm animals in pj's say goodnight to their farm, their mommies and daddies, and to God. Rhyming verse, calming artwork, and whimsical renditions of favorite farm animals in their cozy beds will make this bedtime book a favorite for years to come. My Thoughts: This book is so adorable. I am already loving that one day I will be able to use it with my grandchildren. It is a hard back padded type cover. The pages are board book style with beautiful illustrations, brightly colored and full of the most adorable farm animals you've ever seen. They will capture your heart, as well as you child's.  Each page consists of a different animal going to sleep, written in poetic style with the animal sound and name of the animal at then end of each prose. The last page affirms how God made all these animals and "me too"! The child will learn about

My Body's Mine by Kayla Marnach

My Body's Mine helps children learn they have the rights to their body. Told through rhyme from a child's point of view this book on boundaries empowers each child to say no when others approach them in ways that make them uncomfortable. It also gives clear instructions on what to do if they are approached in an unwanted manner. The questions at the end of the book provides an easy transition for counselors and parents to open a discussion to prevent abuse or to further explore if abuse has occurred.
