The Imposter by Suzanne Woods Fisher - Review and GIVEAWAY - ENDED

Winner is Melissa H.

A heart once deceived should not be easily fooled again . . .

Cover ArtKatrina Stoltzfus thought she had life and love all figured out: she was going to marry John and live happily ever after. But as her plans crumble before her eyes, she struggles to face an uncertain future. When a widow asks for help starting a new business, Katrina quickly agrees. She needs time to heal her broken heart, to untangle her messy life, to find a purpose.

What she doesn't need is attention from Andy Miller, a farmhand who arrives at the widow's farm just when help is most needed--and who always
seems to say the right thing and be in the right place, at the right time. Is Andy for real or too good to be true? She's been deceived once before, and she isn't planning on experiencing it again.

Bestselling author Suzanne Woods Fisher invites you back to Stoney Ridge for a tale of love, uncertainty, and trusting God to write your story.

I received this book from Revell in exchange for my honest opinion.

My Thoughts:
This book is a page turner, and I did not want to put it down! I was connected from the prologue. Who wouldn't be when David, living in the "garden of Eden", gets this, from a dying man's lips, "A snake is in the garden." From that moment on, I had to know who the snake was!

The story mostly focuses around David, an Amish minister, his daughter, Katrina, and their family. David is a widow with six children, a minister and a store owner. His oldest daughter Katrina, nineteen, has recently suffered her share of a broken heart. She moves in with a widow friend to help take care of her and assist with her new business venture. Thelma has just hired a new farm hand, Andy. It doesn't help that Katrina is drawn to him, but he seems a little too good to be true, and not what she needs to mend her broken heart.

Meanwhile, David has a wayward son who seems to get himself into one mess after another. Can a minister be above reproach when his family seems to have run amuck? Not only that but, unbeknownst to David, a not-so-helpful friend has put an ad in the paper for a minister's wife, and letters are coming in quickly. David is not ready for love in the midst of all the current turmoil. Can he ward off the well-meaning ladies, or will he get swept off his feet?

I hate to say much, as I don't want to give away the story, but I can tell you it is good! It is not the typical run of the mill Amish books I have read in the past. Suzanne keeps the story interesting, and the reader guessing. Who is the snake? Will he be discovered? The end is sweet, but also keeps you longing for more. SO hopefully, it won't be long til the next book in the series comes out.

    1. I agree. Their way of life is very intriguing to me also. It's like another world, and yet, it is here in ours. To me it's kind of hopeful of a bit of a slower pace. Interestingly enough, in this book, there is a struggle in the community of how much advancement is acceptable.
