I am becoming a big fan of Cindy Woodsmall. I have always enjoyed reading Amish books, but had never heard of her as an author until I started participating in the Blogging for Books program from Waterbrook Multomah. I have now read several of her Amish series books and have enjoyed all of them. This latest book I received free from Waterbrook Press for the purpose of my review.
This book is about Hannah, who after being thrown back into her past, must make some very tough decisions about her future. She must find healing from wounds to her soul, and make a choice to forgive or return to the Englisher community she went to live in, after being shunned by her own small Amish community.
One thing I have always enjoyed about Amish books is the author's emphasis on the importance of family and God. No matter what happens in our lives, God can always bring healing and forgiveness to our hearts if we allow Him to. He also uses our circumstances and the things that at the moment seem to be negative in our lives to draw us to Him and accomplish His purpose in us. Many times He is working behind the scenes in ways we do not know or understand. As in this book, the wounds from the past, helped mold Hannah into the woman she has become. She gained knowledge, courage, and in the end God brought healing.
This book is the third book in the Sisters of the Quilt Series. You can read an excerpt of the book HERE.
