Can't Believe Its Over

I can hardly believe this year is over!  But I am also excited about beginning a new year.  I haven't set many goals for the new year other than just walking closer with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, as well as selecting my ONE WORD for the year!   (hopefully an upcoming post on that one) As far as my blogging goes... It needs a lot of work, I know.  Because in spite of the fact that I enjoy it immensely, I have to remind myself that I CANNOT always do it all , as I would like to think, and it is mostly just a hobby.  I need to work on prioritizing better as I often tend to over commit - although not on purpose. My eyes are just sometimes bigger than my reading time and ability as it has been of late. I have gotten so far behind on my reviews, I am embarrassed.  I will definitely be working on getting that back on track in the new year, so if yours is the book, I have yet to review - please forgive me. The past couple of months, other than my family, my main focus

Slave Again by Alana Terry

Not too long ago, I posted a highlight on Alana Terry's new book Slave Again .   I just finished reading and it is wonderful. One of the things I love about Alana is her passion for North Korean Christians, refugees, and others who are suffering there. Her goal is to draw attention to this possibly over looked, shoved under the table issue, and also stir up prayer for brothers and sisters in Christ suffering persecution.

CONNECTED from GODFATHER to GOD the FATHER by J ALDEN HALL

The FBI's search for an escaped convict, a former member of John Dillinger's gang, brought them to little Bobo's house as they attempted to unearth his father. Bobo's dad eluded capture, and the seven-year old joined his father, embarking on life as a fugitive. Searching for happiness through his Catholic boarding school years and success as a businessman, Jim Hall became entrenched in the mafia. With riveting tales of Frank Sinatra, Las Vegas casinos, and a possible connection to JFK's death, this is the miraculous true story of a boy connected to the Godfather who finds his way to peace with God the Father. This book is available at the following locations: Amazon Barnes and Noble ABOUT AUTHOR:  J. Breathing Room by Leeana Tankersley

Leeana Tankersley, like so many of us, began to feel overwhelmed by life. And like so many of us, she assumed she was struggling not because life is inherently difficult but because she was personally failing in some way. She knows firsthand what it is to bully yourself, to put yourself down for not being able to keep it all together, to compare yourself to others and find yourself lacking. But she's also discovered that all of the hurt and hostility and pain only add up to a life of holding your breath. What if we could exhale and let go?   Breathing Room  is her beautiful release of self-condemnation, her discovery of the rest that comes when we give ourselves some space to breathe. She draws readers in through shared experiences of perfectionism, jealousy, and striving and shows them how to let go, how to be radically on their own team, and how to experience the broad grace that Christ has offered all of us.

The Holiday Rush

Well... The HOLIDAYS are in full swing... And if you are a bit like me, so is the holiday crunch! Of course, there are some out there - unlike myself - who may have it all together this time a year. (smile) My hats off to you! Between extra seamstress jobs (for which I am extremely thankful), Thanksgiving festivities, family in town, a Christmas parade, practice, program, and all the loose ends to tie up.... Life is getting ahead of me. Hence, I am a bit off kilter with my reading and blog posting. Our Parade float was Grand Prize Winner As much as I enjoy blogging, reading, and connecting with those of you who are book lovers like me, my blog takes second place to "real life", family, and other obligations; because alas, it is mostly a well-loved hobby. So, I want to say THANKS for reading,                            Thanks for understanding                            Thanks for bearing with me when life gets hectic. I aim to get a few book reviews up soon,
