Purposeful Design by Jay Schabacker - Review

I received this book in exchange for my review. A small amount of advertisement is included in the post.  Purposeful Design  beautifully reveals the principles of science that operate our world. It masterfully explains the elements of designs that make life possible, and compellingly presents evidence that a loving Creator God was purposeful in these designs. The author, Mr. Schabacker, a former aerospace scientist and businessman, seems to know the art of storytelling. The book delights the senses with beautifully depictive pictures, and easy to understand explanations of complex science concepts.

A Dad's Prayers for His Daughter by Rob and Joanna Teigen

I received this book in exchange for my review. Small amount of advertisement included in post. From the moment a man becomes the dad of a daughter, he knows he's going to be doing a lot of praying. He wants to pray for his girl, but he may wonder, Where do I start? What should I be praying for? The couple who brought you 88 Great Daddy-Daughter Dates now shows dads how to pray for their daughters. They assure dads that just because they don't always understand their little girls, that doesn't mean that God doesn't. Collecting specific prayers that dads can use, along with stories from other dads about how God has answered their prayers for their girls, Rob and Joanna Teigen give men a strong foundation to build a lifelong habit of prayer for their daughters. They also explain a little more about girls and what they go through growing up, including stress, purity issues, social pressure, modesty challenges, spiritual growth, and more, so a dad can pray for every ar

Even if that means moving to the quaint island town of Greenbrier, South Carolina, to be the new face of her stepmother’s bridal wear line—an irony too rich for words, since Ivy is far from the pure bride in white. Interview with Author Lori Benton and GIVEAWAY

Today I want to welcome Lori Benton to the blog. She is the author of two books Burning Sky and her most recent novel  The Pursuit of Tamsen Littlejohn .  Lori Benton was born and raised east of the Appalachian Mountains, surrounded by early American and family history going back to the 1600s. Her novels transport readers to the 18th century, where she brings to life the Colonial and early Federal periods of American history, creating a melting pot of characters drawn from both sides of a turbulent and shifting frontier, brought together in the bonds of God's transforming grace. When she isn’t writing, reading, or researching 18th century history, Lori enjoys exploring the mountains with her husband – often scouring the brush for huckleberries, which overflow the freezer and find their way into her signature huckleberry lemon pound cake. Now, let's see what Lori has to say:  ( Lori's answers are in green )

The Pursuit of Tamsen Littlejohn by Lori Benton

About the Book Western North Carolina, 1787 To escape a threatening stepfather and an unwanted marriage, Tamsen Littlejohn enlists the aid of Jesse Bird, a frontiersman she barely knows, to spirit her away from Morganton, North Carolina, west beyond the Blue Ridge Mountains. Trouble pursues, as the two men intent on seeing her recovered prove relentless in their hunt. Trouble awaits in the form of a divided frontier community. Across the mountains the State of Franklin has been declared, yet many settlers remain loyal to North Carolina. Chaos reigns, thwarting Tamsen and Jesse's hastily cobbled plan to keep her safe.

Burning Sky by Lori Benton - Review

Disclosure: I received this book in exchange for review. The following post contains some advertisement. "I remember the borders of our land, though I have been gone from them nearly half the moons of my life. But who there will remember me? What I have seen, what I have done, it has changed me." Abducted by Mohawk Indians at fourteen and renamed Burning Sky, Willa Obenchain is driven to return to her family’s New York frontier homestead after many years building a life with the People. At the boundary of her father’s property, Willa discovers a wounded Scotsman lying in her path. Feeling obliged to nurse his injuries, the two quickly find much has changed during her twelve-year absence—her childhood home is in disrepair, her missing parents are rumored to be Tories, and the young Richard Waring she once admired is now grown into a man twisted by the horrors of war and claiming ownership of the Obenchain land.

The Truth - Salvatore's Revenge by Ta'Mara Hanscom

Welcome back to the final days of the Caselli Series Blog-a-Thon. Today, I am featuring the fifth book in the series by Ta`Mara Hanscom. This was the first book I read when I first heard about Ta`Mara. ( Read my Review ) I am not sure why I started on number five. Usually, I do not like to begin a series in the middle. But something about this book grabbed my attention and I decided to give it a try. I truly believe it was the Lord. You can pick up this book and read it alone, and get the gist of what happened over the years, and enjoy the book. But honestly, it will only give you a taste and a craving to read the whole series! Voice of experience speaking.  Although, for me, it did make reading the rest of the books easier, because I knew how it all would end! Sly Grin
