Soul Food and Body Fuel

"O taste and see that the Lord is good; Oh the joys of those who take refuge in Him!" Psalm 34:8 Do you find yourself constantly thinking about what you should not eat, or the things you cannot do? We've all been there, and it leaves us feeling deprived and depressed. Instead of being energized by following Christ, we waste our days feeling bored and burned out on our faith, while battling the guilt that comes from craving food and other things we enjoy. In this book, Sheri, encourages you to embark on a new adventure with faith and food. She reveals the coaching tips that enabled her to lose over fifty pounds and keep them off.

You Never Know When Your Life May Change

Fifteen-year-old Jennifer Barrick was the daughter parents dream about: a varsity athlete and cheerleader; a healthy, happy girl with a loving heart. And if the Barrick family had left church even one minute later that night, everything might have stayed the same. But in a moment, a drunk driver careened into their van at 80 miles an hour. The entire family was seriously hurt-but Jen's injuries were so devastating that the paramedics thought she had no chance to live. Discover how God turned normal into extraordinary in Miracle for Jen -a transformational story of hope and love now containing an all new chapter.

Would You Pray These Prayers?

"I pray that you'll have to wait and learn the value of patience." -Day 18 This book is a 31 day devotional. Each day begins with a prayer and Scripture. Lisa then gives a devotional from her heart in which she shares her own struggles as well as a personal application for the parent. But to find all that our children must learn a life of discipline, self control, obedience, and total surrender to their Heavenly Father.  If they learn these lessons, they will be well equipped to accomplish much for the Kingdom.

Is Your Faith Firsthand or Secondhand?

Join us on a journey to find a faith of your own. A faith that isn’t your parents’ or your youth pastor’s or your church’s. Start from scratch, question everything, and get hold of a faith that’s real. We call it firsthand faith. The authors , Ryan and Josh Shook, grew up in a Christian home and spent all their life in church. But theirs was a secondhand faith, and once they got in their twenties, something changed. After going through a faith crisis, they didn't give it all up, instead they searched for answers and discovered their own firsthand faith.

A Love Story Reflecting God's Heart for Israel

This Biblical fiction novel contains the story of God's prophet Hosea and his journey of obedience to God's voice.  God tells Hosea to marry a prostitute to exemplify to Israel God's love for them. Israel, God's chosen nation is prostituting themselves with other gods of the pagan nations around them. They have broken God's heart, but He still loves them. Can Hosea love his harlot wife as God loves his people? Mesu Andrews is the author and an active speaker who has devoted herself to passionate and intense study of Scripture. Harnessing her deep understanding and love for God's Word, Andrews brings the biblical world vividly alive for her readers

Radical Faith - Outrageous Courage

Tracy Evans, a physician assistant, has treated rebel guerrillas while captive on an Asian island. She's sipped tea in a Mozambican hut while bullets whistled through the grass walls. She's cared for 900 HIV-positive orphans. In these pages you will find not only gripping, un-embellished true stories of Tracy's exploits around the globe, but the more amazing account of what God can do with--and through--one person's raw faith and obedience. Tracy's life has had an unbelievable impact on us, our families and our friends. We pray that you, too, will be inspired to radical obedience, faith adventures and wild trust in God’s power and purpose for your life. Put on your seat belt and let the journey begin!   -Kris and Jason Vallotton

Combatting Darkness with THE LIGHT

This book is a biblical fiction set in Ephesus during the time of Paul. I have always enjoyed history, when its mixed with Bible even better. Tracy makes it come alive. The way she describes the places, and people of Ephesus , you feel like you are there watching the story unfold. With a a biblical fiction, I like to go back to the bible and read the story or passage again and compare it with what the author has to say. Here is a video of Tracy in Ephesus:   Ephesus was a place full of darkness and evil. Sorcerers practiced openly and freely, and many people were possessed.  The temples of the false gods and goddesses lined the city. Daria is fleeing a past that haunts her, but her new life is not much better. The same things that haunted her then seem to be infiltrating Ephesus too. Daria is working as a tutor employed by Lucas, a local wealthy business man with a secret in his past also. She sees where he is headed, but is not sure if s...

Ruffled Scarf

After reading about how easy it was to make these ruffled scarves on my friend Sharon's blog, Hobbies on a Budget , I have been dying to try one. Last week, my daughter and I had to make a quick trip to the dentist and stopped off at Hobby Lobby to pick up some yarn. This yarn is so cool! It is like netting. You can knit it, or crochet it. And there are all kinds of cool projects out there you can make with it, including scarves, purses, skirts and much more.   I let my daughter choose whether she wanted the knitted or crocheted look since they turn out a little different and she opted for the crocheted look. This week we took a field trip to Nashville, and it was a great opportunity to take along my crochet hook and the yarn.  I was car-pooling, so was blessed not to have to drive. It probably took me around an hour or maybe a little more to finish this awesome lime green scarf.  It is very simple to make. You can find all kinds of tutorials on ...

Though Mountains Fall - Dale Cramer

Caleb Bender has been in Mexico for several years now, after following God's calling to move a small community of Amish there. The settlement has been thriving, but their very existence may now be threatened. Family trials, bandits, government problems, and the lack of a bishop have brought much discouragement to Caleb. He is confused about God's plan for his life and not sure what to do next. Did he misunderstand God's will?

The Pretender - Blackguard in Disguise

This author had me hooked from the get-go.  The first book I read was number five in the series:  The Truth- Salvatore's Revenge.   Beginning in the middle of the series, was a little complicated at first, but once I got to know the characters, I could not stop reading.  I was up til midnight several nights, and I am not a night owl!  I got my hands on the first book as quickly as possible and within the past week, I have also finished book one.   "My Jean-Marc’s uncle was married to an English woman, and she told us once, a very long time ago, that in this world there are men of two kinds. The one, the knight, is the man possessing only strength and quality of moral character. He will never ask a lady to compromise her honor for less than a vow, and never, ever will he consider another once he has captured her heart. A knight keeps his vow, even when it hurts, and the honor of a knight is a thing a country is built upon. A knight comes al...
