Online Consignment Clothes for Kids

Recently, I was given the opportunity to try out an online retailer .  Thred Up is an online consignment shop, where you can buy or sell your name brand children's clothes.

With growing children, I am always looking for ways to save money buying clothes. I, for one, am not a name brand only kind of gal. My children wear what I can find that looks nice and is affordable, but when I do have an opportunity to get name brand items at a discounted price, I certainly get excited!
Shopping with ThredUp is simple. It does not cost anything to sign up. Simply click on the link and start up your account. You can shop by size, or item (for example sportswear, dresses, etc..) or both. They have children's clothes sizes 12mos and up, including all the brands you like.Their prices vary beginning at around $3.99 and going up from there. I found some items to be expensive, but many were reasonably priced.

It took me maybe 30 minutes to an hour to pick out some items we were in need of. My daughter has been blessed with plenty of hand-me-downs. But swim items are harder to come by. So, since we have a pool and the kids swim multiple times a day in the summer, I decided to stock up on some swimwear. We are mostly surrounded by boys in the family, so youngest daughter thinks she should be like them, and does not get excited over a swim suit as much as she does a pair of shorts like the boys! I ordered two cute girl swim shorts and a matching tank! I spent around $17-$18. Placing the order was simple and easy.  ThredUP takes credit cards or Paypal for your convenience. There are also various opportunities to get some great shopping codes that can help you save money.

My daughter asked daily how long til her package arrived. It took about a week, and we received the package USPS just in time for Easter. Boy was she excited!!
 Our items-
came in very good like new condition.
We were very pleased with the outcome of our opportunity!
ThredUp has lots of cool opportunities to save you money! If you are ready to clean out your closets you can request a bag which comes free to you in the mail. You simply fill it with freshly laundered clothes that meet their high standards, and it includes return postage FREE! I am in the process of trying out this and cannot give a review yet of how it works, but hope to be able to soon.

ThredUp also has fundraising opportunities. I decided to start a fundraiser for a friend of mine who is raising money for the adoption of her newest Chinese daughter. I would certainly love to have your help if you are interested and ready to clean out those closets! You can go here to sign up and join our fundraising efforts.

Do you buy things from consignment shops? Have you ever tried an online consignment shop? This was certainly a new experience for me! If you decide to try ThredUp I would love to hear your feedback!

I was provided this $20 credit opportunity by ThredUp in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

  1. How cute these swim shorts are! I love those for little girls when they want to run around the pool area in the hot summer days! I really love the idea of using Thred up for fundraising for a cause! Great resource! Especially for those in rural areas!

  2. I think this type of store is such a great idea, recycling rather than adding to the huge amount of waste we have. I love getting bargains rather than paying top dollar.
