Shattered by Dani Pettrey (Alaskan Courage #2)

Only a Sister's Trust Can Save Him Now

When Piper McKenna's prodigal brother returns home, he is accused of murder and arrested.  He claims he didn't do it, but the mounting evidence against him claims otherwise. With all odds against him, not many are sure what to think, except  Piper. She knows her brother has had problems, but there is not way, his tender heart would kill anyone. Long time friend of the family, Deputy Landon Grainger is between a rock and a hard place. With political agendas on the line, and the sheriff pushing for a quick conviction, how can he take the time to investigate the case thoroughly? Piper launches her own investigation, leaving Landon no option but to do his best to protect her from what is turning into a dangerous and deadly case.

About the Author:
Dani Pettrey has become a well-loved author on my bookshelf.  Her books are similar to watching  National Treasure on the big screen or Indiana Jones. The thrill of the mystery, adventure, and a little romance to boot! In spite of all the excitement in her books, in real life, Dani is a wife, homeschooling mom and author. She feels blessed to write inspirational romantic suspense because it incorporates so many things she loves–the thrill of adventure, nail-biting suspense, the deepening of one’s faith and plenty of romance. She’s a huge fan of dark chocolate, is always in search of the best iced mocha and her dream is to one day own a little cottage on a remote stretch of beach. She and her husband reside in Maryland with their two teenage daughters.  Her website is amazing!   She is also on Facebook and Twitter.

My thoughts:
LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! This Alaskan Courage series!! Ever since I read Dani's first book Submerged (check out my review HERE), I have been eagerly awaiting the release of her new book. And am sooo excited to know she has a new one releasing in the fall too! These are spell bound page turning books. You just cannot put it down! Dani is very talented in keeping the suspense up, and keeping the reader wondering from one minute to the next what the ending will be. There are twists and turns all throughout the story, and just about the time you think you have it all figured out..... You find out you don't!  All I can say is: Read this book! These books are stand alone for  the most part, although a series is always fun read in order, but nothing in this book directly relates to what happened in the first book, other than family members.
*I received this book from Bethany House in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.*

  1. This sounds interesting. Sometimes, loved ones do something very wrong and we grapple with our feelings. It would be interesting to see how she deals with her situation and the truth about the situation.
