This book is available on Amazon and Barnes and NobleMy Thoughts:
It's All Good!! I enjoyed The Heart Stone so thoroughly it was difficult to put it down to do my housework! The story is simple and easy to follow, yet mysterious, suspenseful, with a touch of romance added in. George MacAllister a former missionary lost his first love and now has lost his leg. He is having difficult time dealing with it. His niece Jessica, has been a single mom for six years. Her son's biological father is finally making attempts to see the boy...but are his motives pure? Why is he all of a sudden interested? Jessica is trying to find housing for her uncle as she is dealing with her own sudden problems. Just about when it seems as though God has answered her prayer, a new twist takes place. This is a story about love and faith. It's about God, and how He works out even the worse things in our lives for good. It is an easy read, relaxing and enjoyable, yet immensely captivating. I will certainly be looking for more books by this author.

Tough question. Sometimes its hard to let someone reenter a life and begin a relationship again after time has passed. I think each situation is unique and calls for special grace and healing.

I think it's always important to let the parents be involved, as long as its a healthy involvement. I am a stepfather who's stepdaughter's real dad wasn't in her life much as a young child but has tried to get back some time now that's she's older. That relationship isn't what we share and will always share, but it is still an important relationship to her.
ReplyDeleteI would love to read this, especially since I'm 1/2 adopted!!! vrush729@aol.com

ReplyDeleteQ: If you were Jessica, would you let the child's father re-enter his life 6 years later, after giving up his rights? Why or why not?
ReplyDeleteA: That's a hard question to answer without knowing more about the people involved. Gut reaction would be no, but then we can't see the big picture and know how God is working. So walking closely with God through prayer and following His leading would be best.
It depends. I think if he had a really, really good reason for not trying all that time, maybe, but it would be under strict supervision and counseling. -martha(at)lclink(dot)com
