When a rivalry with another racer turns personal, the ego that propelled him to success causes a tragedy, sending his life into a tailspin. Jack Reed was attempting to make up for past mistakes. He had prospered as a businessman but failed as a family man. In a sudden turn of events, his chances for reconciliation are ripped from his grasp.

Newton and Polly - The Story Behind Amazing Grace

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me.  I once was lost, but now am found Although I have heard and sung the song Amazing Grace many times, I don't  think I ever had really heard the story behind it. Jody Hedlund does a wonderful job at bringing that song and backstory to life. In this book you will get to know the characters surrounding the song, and it will make the song even more meaningful to you when you sing. I enjoyed this book immensely. Jody held me captive by Newton's charismatic charm, Polly's innocence and godliness, as well as her strong character. Newton was a bit of a reckless, free will kind of guy, who mostly just went with the flow of whatever he felt like doing until one day, his choices were removed from him by force. Eventually, during dire circumstances, John finds God and His amazing grace.

They believed God would give them a great story … and He did. Husband-and-wife singing duo Joey+Rory wanted more to life … so they chose less. Girls Slimline Holy Bible

This Bible is a very nice attractive Bible for girls. With a beautiful cover of blue that has a velvety feel bound with glittery silver and the word LOVE in pink, it will be the pride of those who carry it. The back cover has a cruise and the words "bold faith". I got it for one of my granddaughters, but my daughter wanted one too after taking a look at it. It contains the entire Bible in the New Living Translation version. Although that is not my particularly favorite version of the Bible to read it is a bit easier to understand than some. I did read through some of my favorite passages to make sure the meaning was still clear.  For example Ephesians 2:8-9 reads like this: God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can't take credit for this; it is a gift from God.  Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.

Messy Grace by Caleb Kalenbach

Sometimes, grace gets messy. Caleb Kaltenbach was raised by LGBT parents, marched in gay pride parades as a youngster, and experienced firsthand the hatred and bitterness of some Christians toward his family. But then Caleb surprised everyone, including himself, by becoming a Christian…and a pastor. Very few issues in Christianity are as divisive as the acceptance of the LGBT community in the church. As a pastor and as a person with beloved family members living a gay lifestyle, Caleb had to face this issue with courage and grace.

Weapons of Warfare

During the past few weeks, the Holy Spirit has really been convicting me concerning my prayer life. Oh... I pray! But sometimes it seems like carving out time for prayer is difficult. It is easier to " pray without ceasing " and that is Biblical right? But so is going into your closet to pray.... Over the years I have tried multiple tools, prayer journals, read books, etc... to help me get on track with my prayer life. And I guess, its been kind of like a roller coaster with ups and downs, twists and turns, depending on the season I am in. But in today's world, can a person survive without a constant and steady prayer life? It is easy to get depressed, discouraged, and at times even losing hope. There are battles everywhere - in the home, out of the home, and all around. I want to be a Woman of Prayer! I want to approach the Throne of God boldly, and ask knowing I will receive what God has for me. There may be so many blessings, I am forfeiting simply because I am no...

Mi Vida Loca

PLEASE, BEAR WITH ME ...    It seems like since the end of last year things have been quite topsy-turvy in my life.  First, various members of the family were sick, then as of about a month ago, we have had company in and out for extended periods of time. Needless to say all this has kept me a bit out of sinc and a little off schedule.  In spite of my enjoyment for blogging, my "spare" time seems to be spent catching up with daily chores, and other responsibilities that are of higher priority. As you can probably tell, I am getting a little behind on my posting my reviews. Here are some books I am either reading or have finished and will hopefully SOON be able to post my reviews: Elizabeth Avery is a stunningly beautiful woman. But her perfectly managed exterior hides the ice cold heart of a killer. She ingeniously manipulates everyone who crosses her path to do exactly as she wishes--from crime reporter Cassidy Shaw...
