Get Lost by Dannah Gresh - Book Review

The FTC requires that I disclose that you will see book and author advertisement in the following post.

"A woman should be so lost in God that a man has to find Him to find her."

Dannah Gresh traces God's language of love through Scripture to help you pursue your heart's deepest desires and seek love the way God designed it to be. Because once you identify your true longings and let God answer them, you'll know just how to respond when romantic love comes along. Get Lost will help you see for yourself how getting lost in God opens the door to lifelong fulfillment.

This book is available on Amazon and Waterbrook Multnomah

My Thoughts:
I have been married almost 14 years, but I enjoyed this book immensely, and even did the 10 day Love Feast, a challenge for girls to make God their priority. Oh... How I wish I had, had this book as a teenager. Maybe I would have made some choices differently. Dannah's approach makes perfect sense to me. Choosing God first, setting boundaries, knowing what you are looking for in a husband before you date, and not settling for less than God's best -whether that means being single or married. Just getting lost in God and His will for your life so you can live truly surrendered to him. If our girls took this concept to heart, there would be alot less broken hearts and marriages.  I cannot recommend this book highly enough. If you have a teenage daughter, this book is for her! And mom, I would recommend you read it too. Also a great book for a youth ministry leader to use with a youth group or small group study. (girls only of course) It includes a Group Leaders Guide in the back.

About the Author:
I have been blessed with the privilege of reading several of Dannah's books on both boys and girls. She is an amazing writer and has alot of insight on what is going on with our children these days. She has a great program for young girls including quite a few books. She addresses issues such as dating, modesty, purity and keeping the innocence in our girls. You can learn more about her and her ministry on her blog and website, PURE FREEDOM as well as order her books. Some of her books include And the Bride Wore White, Lies Young Women Believe (with Nancy Leigh DeMoss) and What Are You Waiting For?.

My Body's Mine helps children learn they have the rights to their body. Told through rhyme from a child's point of view this book on boundaries empowers each child to say no when others approach them in ways that make them uncomfortable. It also gives clear instructions on what to do if they are approached in an unwanted manner. The questions at the end of the book provides an easy transition for counselors and parents to open a discussion to prevent abuse or to further explore if abuse has occurred.
