For the last five months, Tom Anderson has been without a job, a fact he's been hiding from his wife Jean--and everyone else. He leaves each morning, pretending nothing has changed, and spends his disheartening day rotating through coffee shops and the library, using their wi-fi to search job listings online. The stress of keeping this secret is beginning to put serious strain on his marriage.
But Tom's not the only one hiding something. Jean Anderson has a
secret of her own--one that will seriously complicate their situation. Will the promises they made on their wedding day hold firm?

What did I think?
I have to tell you, I am hooked on this series. Maybe it's because I can so relate to the characters in these books - their trials, their fears, their choices; sometimes I feel like I am reading about my life! What is it I love about this series? Well, it's about real life issues. Issues with your children, issues in marriage, things that we all most likely face at one point or another - Job loss, Finances, Communication (that's a big one)! But this is not a preachy type, self-help, or this-is-how-to-fix-your-marriage book. Instead it is just a novel, simply written, easy to read, with discretely woven advice on how to handle these problems when they come up. It's about hope, prayer, intervention, and restoration. It's about the love of God, forgiveness, and new beginnings. I read the first book in this series - Read my review of The Dance HERE. And I have to say I enjoyed this one as much as the first one. It is a read alone but I would certainly recommend the whole series. I am eagerly awaiting book three. I am hoping some men will pick up these books and read them! I know a lot of wives who would be grateful. (smile)
Available August 2013 at your favorite bookseller from Revell, a division of Baker Publishing Group.
