I received this book from Revell Blogger Program in exchange for my review. I was not required to give a positive review and no other compensation has been provided.

My Thoughts:
My first book by Patricia was Shadows of the Past, the first book in this series, which by the way is not a necessary read to comprehend this book, but definitely a recommended one for its own sake. I fell in love with her writing immediately.  She can sure capture your attention from the very beginning.
"Tony Jackson shouldn't be dying in a ritzy hotel room in downtown Memphis on a hot July night. He shouldn't be dying at all."
If that doesn't get you involved and read to read on... I don't know what will!

Patricia's writing is full of suspense. You will be hanging on every minute wondering what will happen next. What I also love about her is the way she incorporates her faith into the plot and characters.  After grabbing you, Patricia takes you on a roller coaster ride of ups and downs and tight packed action, with a few twists on the way. Insert some strained romance  and you're set.

In this novel, main character Leigh Somerall is a single mom who works hard, loves her kid, and is obviously in need of protection. Main character two -Leigh's former flame, Ben, now sheriff and the last person she wants around, has given a dying man - her brother - his promise to protect her. And he intends to fulfill that promise even against her wishes. The story is full of unexpected surprises. An emotional ride in which you will be rooting for Ben to grasp God's forgiveness, for Leigh to give up her secrets, and of course a happily ever after ending to happen. Not wanting to give away spoilers, I would just highly recommend you read this book!

The pages are board book style with beautiful illustrations, brightly colored and full of the most adorable farm animals you've ever seen. They will capture your heart, as well as you child's.  Each page consists of a different animal going to sleep, written in poetic style with the animal sound and name of the animal at then end of each prose. The last page affirms how God made all these animals and "me too"! The child will learn about

Told through rhyme from a child's point of view this book on boundaries empowers each child to say no when others approach them in ways that make them uncomfortable. It also gives clear instructions on what to do if they are approached in an unwanted manner. The questions at the end of the book provides an easy transition for counselors and parents to open a discussion to prevent abuse or to further explore if abuse has occurred.
