If you are a fan of Dani Pettrey as I and so many other readers out there are - then you have been waiting breathlessly for this latest release!!
Growing up, goody-two-shoes Kirra Jacobs and troublemaker Reef McKenna were always at odds. Now paired together on Yancey’s search-and-rescue canine unit, they begin to put aside old arguments as they come to see each other in a different light.
Then a call comes in from the Iditarod that will push them to their limits. Kirra’s uncle, a musher in the race, has disappeared. Kirra and Reef quickly track the man, but what they discover is harrowing. Frank’s daughter has been kidnapped. In order to save her, the man must use his knowledge as a mechanical engineer to do the kidnapper’s bidding or she will die.
Kirra and Reef, along with the entire McKenna family, are thrown into a race to stop a shadowy villain who is not only threatening a girl’s life, but appears willing to unleash one of the largest disasters Alaska has ever seen.

I received a copy of this book from publisher in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own. I am in no way required to give a positive review.
My Thoughts:
First off, I have to say, I am just fascinated by Dani's talent! As a homeschooling mom myself, I just have no idea where she finds the time to write, much less come up with these amazing stories. Obviously, God has given her an incredible talent for writing as well as developing plots.
I have read every McKenna book, and can't pick a favorite even if I tried! Each book has its own character and special place in my heart. If you haven't had the opportunity to meet the McKenna's then you should take it! Even though I would recommend you begin at Book 1 - Submerged, each book is a stand alone and can be followed whether you read the whole series or not.
This book, Sabotaged, is no exception. I was caught up from the beginning in Reef and Kirra's Iditarod experience as well as the mystery surrounding it. It contains one twist after the other, filled with suspense, mystery, and of course just the perfect amount of romance!
My favorite part of the book, was the way Dani incorporates faith into her series. Reef and Kirra's faith as they pray together, for me, just touched a heart string. Kirra has secrets from her past, and fears she has been dealing with for years, not to mention the newest fear for her uncle and cousin. Reef becomes an anchor for her, and encourages growth in her faith in God as he helps her face and deal with her fears. In turn, she is surprised and amazed at his change in character from what she had always seen growing up. This new identity resounds with her and love begins to grow. But for anything to come of it, they must be able to escape the clutches of the enemy and survive as well as find a way to rescue her cousin and uncle from a definite uncanny end.
Of course, as in all the other books in the series, watching the love blossom between the other McKenna siblings is also a bonus. A midst all the bizarre circumstances, Jake is trying to find a way to propose to Kayden, and Gage and Darcy are an amazing team. Following them through all the books makes you feel like you know each and every one of them personally.
Do I recommend this book? Yes! Yes! And Yes!! And all the other books in this series for that matter!
