Give Me A BREAK!!

Give me a BREAK
Give me a BREAK
Break me off a piece of that Kit Kat bar
Are you singing the tune yet?
It's a little too catchy!

A Break!!
Isn't that what most of us feel like we need, maybe even deserve?

This week I have been reading a book about a guy who really deserved a break.  And I am not kidding!!! His story is provokes anger in me, compassion, and a desire to DO SOMETHING!!!  (review coming soon) How many people out there deserve or need a break?

There are times when we all feel like we deserve a break. If life, if only circumstances, people, God even ... would just cut us some slack.  When you look around you, do you see people who maybe need a break? Life has dealt them a handful of tough situations and they could just use a listening ear, a compassionate heart, a friend?

Thankfully, God sees! He came to fill two needs.

  1. - a break from sin and hell.    "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."  Romans 6:23
  2. - a break from the soul hurt that exhausts us. "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."         Matthew 11:28-30

He may not remove us from the storm - but He can be the eye of the storm - that place in which we can find rest and catch a break.

Maybe you know someone today who could just use a BREAK - a kind word, a note of encouragement, something sweet to brighten their day, a small act of kindness goes a long way.
Give them a break!
(and yourself too)
