FERVENT by Priscilla Shirer - Review and GIVEAWAY - *ENDED*

WINNER is Becky Burns

You have an enemy . . . and he’s dead set on destroying all you hold dear and keeping you from experiencing abundant life in Christ. What’s more, his approach to disrupting your life and discrediting your faith isn’t general or generic, not a one-size-fits-all. It’s specific. Personalized. Targeted.
So this book is your chance to strike back. With prayer. With a weapon that really works. Each chapter will guide you in crafting prayer strategies that hit the enemy where it hurts, letting him know you’re on to him and that you won’t back down. Because with every new strategy you build, you’re turning the fiercest battles of life into precise strikes against him and his handiwork, each one infused with the power of God’s Spirit.

New York Times bestselling author Priscilla Shirer, widely known for her international speaking, teaching, and writing ministries, brings her new role from the 2015 film War Room into the real lives of today’s women, addressing the topics that affect them most: renewing their passion, refocusing their identity, negotiating family strife, dealing with relentless regrets, navigating impossible schedules, succeeding against
temptation, weathering their worst fears, uprooting bitterness, and more. Each chapter exposes the enemy’s cruel, crafty intentions in all kinds of these areas, then equips and encourages you to write out your own personalized prayer strategies on tear-out sheets you can post and pray over yourself and your loved ones on a regular basis.
Fervent is a hands-on, knees-down, don’t-give-up action guide to practical, purposeful praying.

I was blessed with this book in exchange for an honest review.

My Thoughts:
WOW!! I am so impressed with this book, I am not sure I can cram how I feel about it in a short review. This book has certainly taken me to new heights in my prayer life and made me think about the areas it has been lacking, as well as, develop new strategies for prayer. Most importantly though, Priscilla has re-enforced a truth I so easily forget - We have an enemy!! That enemy is not our family members, husband, friends, church, leaders, co-workers - That enemy is Satan - the devil himself - who will do everything in his power to destroy what is precious to us and the Lord - our testimony, our marriages, our children, our church, and the cause of Christ. While we fight our battle with earthly weapons and continue to fail, stumble and fall over and over, God is calling us to warfare with a different set of weapons. Those with heavenly power, a power only the Almighty God can give, but one guaranteed to win the war every time!!

Have you been feeling defeated, discouraged, down? Does life seem hopeless, fearful, and depressing? Do your past sins continue to bring guilt and shame even though you know you have been forgiven? Is your marriage a battle zone in itself? Are your children or grandchildren wayward, living the life of the prodigal? God is calling you to War!! Not with earthly weapons of words, backbiting, bitterness, anger, or strife, but with heavenly weapons that tear down strongholds, take thoughts captive and are able to defeat all the fiery darts of the evil one. He is calling you to leave a legacy of answered prayers for your children and generations to come to witness. He is calling you to PRAYER!

This book will encourage your spirit, teach you new strategies for battling the enemy, and help you overcome even your weakest points. What will you be praying about? Your identity, your fears, your purity, your marriage, your children, and other areas of life you may struggle with. Priscilla surveyed a panel of women and asked what areas of life they felt defeated in. She took the top ten and used them as a jumping off point. But you don't have to stop there. It's just a starting point. Once you have learned to successfully strategize your prayer life - you will be off and running. Prayer will be a constant part of your day, and you will see GOD do miracles! We still serve that kind of GOD! Get started today!!
