The Lost Heiress by Roseanne White

Sweeping Romance and Mystery in the Edwardian Era
Brook Eden has never known where she truly belongs. When her friend Justin uncovers the fact that she is possibly a missing heiress from Yorkshire, Brook leaves the sun of the Mediterranean to travel to the moors of the North Sea and the estate of her supposed family.

The mystery of her mother's death haunts her, and though her father is quick to accept her, the rest of the family and the servants of Whitby Park are not. Only when Brook's life is threatened do they draw close--but will their loyalty come too late to save Brook from the same threat that led to tragedy for her mother?

As heir to a dukedom, Justin is no stranger to balancing responsibilities. When the matters of his estate force him far
from Brook, the distance between them reveals that their friendship has grown into something much more. But how can their very different loyalties and responsibilities ever come together?

And then for a second time, the heiress of Whitby Park is stolen away because of the very rare treasure in her possession--and those who can save her still aren't sure whom to trust.

About the Author:
Roseanna M. White pens her novels beneath her Betsy Ross flag, with her Jane Austen action figure watching over her. When not writing fiction, she's homeschooling her two children, editing and designing, and pretending her house will clean itself. Roseanna is the author of nine novels, ranging from biblical fiction to American-set romances to her new British series. Roseanna lives with her family in West Virginia.

I was blessed with this book courtesy of Bethany House in exchange for my honest opinion.

My Thoughts:
Warning!! Don't pick up this novel unless you have time to read. Ok... I am just kidding, but seriously, this is one that will stick in your head. A mystery, a touch of romance, a bit of adventure... You will have a hard time putting it down. I know! Because, I did. Busy schedule, squeezing in some reading here and there, that's how I read, but oh how I hate when a book grabs me and I have to put it down because duty calls, responsibilities beckon, and the story has to wait.

I loved the characters in the book. At the beginning it took me just a little time to get everyone straight, but once that was under belt, I became caught up in the plot. It's a bit like a fairy tale. Brook, a girl of stunning beauty, but lost identity, finally finds her home. Not without struggle though, as most believe she is also a pretender as the ones before her. Her only comfort, Justin, her best friend. But not for long, as he must assume his own responsibilities possibly at the cost of their relationship. A vicious attack, secrets, and nobility aim to threaten not only Brook's life, but also her happiness.  Thankfully, brooks faith sustains her.

Can love survive? Or is an arranged marriage the best for endurance? Who can be trusted and who is out to get her? Well, I can't say much more without spoiling it. But I can highly recommend it, and hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
