My thoughts:
I am impressed with this cute girls Bible. The purple and pink writing and accents, the beautiful colorful cover, all add character to it. Nancy Rue' s touch as a well known author for girls adds a special element. I am thrilled to be giving this to my daughter for Christmas. I am going to as my own touch by making a Bible cover to go with it. The only thing I don't really liked about it is that it's a hard back, but that is just preference.
Glancing through it, I was thrilled with the direct applications for her on a level she can understand. The Dream Girl sections, to help her use her imagination and picture herself as Esther, Ruth, or the Good Samaritan. What a great way to enhance awareness of the times and culture as well as make the story applicable to self, not just a fairy tale.
Scattered throughout the Bible are Bring it On sections, that include questions such as what would you do with multiple choice answers. On the following page each answer has a scripture verse that coordinates with it for better guidance. They are also specific Treasure This verses too memorize that enhance Bible knowledge and practical application.
I know my daughter is going too enjoy the Is the 're a little of ... in you sections, too help them see how much like those Bible characters she really is. How many of us have thought I could never be like .... or there's no way I would have acted like .... Eve?
Each book of the Bible contains an introduction giving an overview of the who what where when context of that particular book. It also gives cool characters to look for and the bad guys if applicable, then explains the point and the connection. The back of the Bible contains a reading through the Bible in a year plan, information on, money, weights, measurements in Bible times, the plan of salvation, and Bible promises.
I am pretty sure any young girl would be excited to own this Bible and it would certainly be a tool for spiritual growth.
