Think, Act, Be Like Jesus - A Kids Devotional

Written for children 6-10, the Think, Act, Be Like Jesus; A Believe Devotional for Kids is part of the national church-wide program led by bestselling author Randy Frazee that shows children how they can think, act, and be more like Jesus, with 90 devotions from the Old and New Testament.
They know the story of the Bible, but do they know what it means?
This 90-Day devotional, written by Oak Hills Church pastor Randy Frazee, is part of the church-wide, ground-breaking Believe campaign and encourages children to follow the footsteps of Jesus. Think, Act, Be Like Jesus; A Believe Devotional for Kids shares the message that the more you believe, the more Jesus can change you from the inside out to become the best person you can be.
As children ages 6-10 walk through 90 devotions from the Old and New Testament—they’ll complete a journey that will
take them closer to the heart of Jesus and deeper into the words of Scripture. They’ll learn what the Bible has to say about everything from the nature of God and the identity of Jesus, to prayer, worship, and the fruit of the Spirit. Foundational and faith-building, this book can be used by individuals or in conjunction with the all-church campaign.

My Thoughts:
Thinking, acting , and being like Jesus completely goes against the grain of who we are, and our sinful nature. In this devotional, kids learn about God, the Bible, and who they are in Christ.

It is hard back, very colorfully illustrated, and easy to understand. It includes 90 devotions. Each with a verse, a short message of application and a prayer. These could be read in about 5 to 10 minutes if the child is able to read pretty well. It is written in a manner younger readers can understand with topics of interest to them.
For example: Identity in Christ
Verse: John 1:12-13
Devotional: We are children of God. And that means God is our heavenly Father.
What that means to you may depend a lot on your earthly father.Maybe you were blessed with a father who shows you how much he loves you; a father whom you can turn to in tough times. Not everyone on this planet has that kind of earthly father, however. Some dad's aren't there for you and don't show their love. Some people may have dad's who do the opposite.Your experiences with your earthly father might make it hard to trust your heavenly Father. But know that in the Lord you can experience great healing, grow in trust and one day run to him for help and protection. God will help you.
Prayer: Dear God, you are my heavenly Father. I will trust in you and love you because I know you love me.
A few topics covered in this book are: God, salvation, the Bible, identity in Christ, compassion, prayer, Bible study, surrender, spiritual gifts, giving, and the fruits of the Spirit.
I think this is a great way for kids to grow in the Lord and learn to apply his word to their lives.
