CASEY KNOWS THE TRUTH. BUT IT WON’T SET HER FREE.
But what is the truth? That’s the question haunting Dylan Roberts, the war-weary veteran hired to find Casey. PTSD has marked him damaged goods, but bringing Casey back can redeem him. Though the crime scene seems to tell the whole story, details of the murder aren’t adding up.
Casey Cox doesn’t fit the profile of a killer. But are Dylan’s skewed perceptions keeping him from being objective? If she isn’t guilty, why did she run?Unraveling her past and the evidence that condemns her will take more time than he has, but as Dylan’s damaged soul intersects with hers, he is faced with two choices: the girl who occupies his every thought is a psychopathic killer . . . or a selfless hero. And the truth could be the most deadly weapon yet.

WOW! Oh my word! When does this sequel come out? Not til next year?! I don't think I can wait that long, but ... alas, I do not have a choice.
This book was incredible, on-the-edge-of-my-seat, can't-get-anything-else-done type book! Terri had me from the very first chapter eating out of her hand, wondering, trying to read faster, and definitely NOT wanting to put this book down!
Casey's friend Brent has just been murdered and she is suspect number one. But of course, she wouldn't murder her best friend would she? If not, then why is she running?
Dylan, Brent's childhood friend and military partner has been hired as a PI to find her. But the more he learns about Casey, the more he wonders how she could have killed Brent, and yet, if she didn't why would she run. The deeper he digs, the more he uncovers and the story is not pretty.
Casey's past is a bit sketchy, having found her dad dead at age twelve. His death ruled a suicide, but Casey has always suspected otherwise. Dylan, is facing his own inner demons after several military deployments and losing some close colleagues. He suffers from PTSD, and he can understand what Casey must be feeling. He works hard to get in her head and figure out what caused her to snap. His gut feeling though, tells him she didn't do it, yet he knows he has to go with facts not feelings.
This is the first book I have read by Terri, but it left me longing for more. I will definitely be looking up more of her books. The end although giving some resolution also leaves us at a bit of a cliffhanger as the series continues! I am eagerly looking forward to the next one.
I received this book from Fiction Guild in exchange for my honest opinion. I was not required to review this book positively.
