One Small Donkey for Little Ones By Dandi Mackall

With Christmas right around the corner, your family will love this heartwarming Christmas story told from an unlikely perspective: a donkey carrying Mary to Bethlehem. Though the donkey wasn’t the biggest, fastest, or strongest of all the animals, he had an important job all the same. Adults and children alike will love the message about how God has big plans for little ones.

My Thoughts:
This is a cute hard back book for little ones. It tells the story of Joseph and Mary going to Bethlehem and the baby Jesus being born from a donkey's point of view. It is written in rhyming prose, all beginning with One Small Donkey. Some of the rhyming may not be the best, but I don't really think a child is going to care and it gets the point across. It's a board book so all the pages are thick and hard and best for those tiny ones to turn the pages without tearing.

The illustrations are beautifully done and the characters come to life with the bright colors. It begins with daytime journey and ends with the night in the stable.  My children are not toddlers any more, but I am pretty sure even my nine year old is going to enjoy this book. I am saving some adorable books like these to pass along to any young grandchildren in the future.

I received this book from BookLook blogger program in exchange for my honest opinion.
