My Thoughts:
Want your young children to know more about Jesus? This 40 day walk with Jesus begins at his birth announcement, by the angel Gabriel, and walks them through the life of Christ, His death, burial, resurrection and ascension.
Each day contains a verse on the side border, a story, and a question. each page has colorful illustrations to depict the story. Most of the stories included are well known to us, such as, Jesus calling his disciples, the man let down through the rooftop by his friends, the calming of the storm. Parables have also been included as part of His ministry. This book would be beneficial for any time of the year, but especially during Christmas Advent season or Easter with Lent. the stories are short and geared mostly towards younger children. I really liked it, and would consider it a very nice gift along with the Candle Day by Day Bible. I was provided a free copy of this book from the publisher to review. All opinions are my own, and I was not asked to review positively. Juliet David has written many children's stories and Bible activity books. Her other interests include painting, music, and travel to Israel and other Bible lands. This experienced author lives in London with her family. |

Winner is Nancy - Comment 9 Chosen by Random Number Generator (see end of post) Powerful Bible teacher and New York Times bestselling author Lisa Bevere has authored her first childrenās book. Boys and girls will love the story of Lizzy , a little lion who must learn what it truly means to be brave in the face of hard things. With a unique spin on the concept of bravery, Lizzy the Lioness is a timely picture book in an ever-changing world. Children will see that bravery is so much more than big muscles or loud roars but often is found in the tiniest people who have the courage to speak up when no one else will. By asking God for help and then bringing grown-ups into the picture, Lizzy shows kids that being brave doesnāt have to happen by yourselfāit happens with help!
