Quiet and Confident Mondays

Ok... so this is my new favorite song!! I love the lyrics to this one. I don't think I had ever heard it before, but I happened across this a few days ago, and I just keep playing it over and over. Due to some recent circumstances, I guess this song just really stood out to me.
I am currently reading through the book Control Girl by Shannon Popkin during my morning devotion hour. I had no idea when I requested this book for review how much it would really speak to my heart. I have underlined, taken notes, and am just feeling like this is such an eye-opener for me. So many times, without my even realizing it, I practice acting like a Control Girl instead of a Jesus Girl. With my word for the year being CONFIDENCE in some ways that to me is akin to SURRENDER. I know it kind of seems like they really don't have anything to do with each other, but when I am surrendered to CHRIST, I will find all the CONFIDENCE I need because it will be in HIM and not in any of my own abilities, desires, etc...

I am still busy reading - finishing up Restoring Love by Jennifer Slattery. Awesome book!!
Also started reading The Reason by William Sirls. I am not too far in, but it definitely has my attention!
And will be reviewing this week You Carried Me by Melissa Ohden (a daughter's memoir). This is a powerful advocate against abortion since Melissa is writing this book as a survivor of a botched abortion.

Thanks for stopping by!!
I would love to hear what you have been up to this week and any thoughts you'd like to share.
