Winner - Tiffany - Chosen by Random.org

God’s Great Love for You, written by #1 New York Times bestselling author and respected pastor Rick Warren, takes children on a whimsical and heartfelt journey that lets them know God’s love is with them wherever they go. With breathtaking illustrations by Chris Saunders, the simple yet poignant text comes alive as a child journeys to places far and near and discovers God’s great love is perfect, and everywhere, and will never end.

My Take:
This is a hardback book for younger children. The illustrations are nicely done, colorful and very attractive. There are really not many words on each page. The highest I counted was 11 and that was only one place in the book. The rest of the pages probably averaged 3-6 large size words.
It talks about how God's great love is created the world and everything including "you". Then goes on to mention how God's great love is with you - where and when. The main character is the little girl on the front, which is super cute by the way, except to me it kind of makes the book a little "girlish". You know geared toward girls. I don't really think that is the authors intent, but she is on almost every page and there was only one page with a boy. I have a boy... so I know how boys might think (smile).

Overall, I think the book is beautiful! It would make a really wonderful gift for a special little one in your life. On a side note, there is one missing fact and that is that God loved us so much He sent His son to save us. For that I can only give it 4 stars instead of 5 - Knowing about God's love is amazing, but knowing what He is willing to do because He loves us is even more amazing.

I was blessed to receive a copy of this book courtesy of  Zonderkidz and Flyby Promotions. I was not asked or required to review positively.

  1. It looks like a wonderful book - but I do agree with you that it might be perceived as girlish. My boys both loved a book called "The Three Robbers" lynne_foster(at)sbcglobal(dot)net

Congratulations to our Winner - Lynne In  Night Night , Farm by Amy Parker, parents and little ones will unwind as sweet farm animals in pj's say goodnight to their farm, their mommies and daddies, and to God. Rhyming verse, calming artwork, and whimsical renditions of favorite farm animals in their cozy beds will make this bedtime book a favorite for years to come. My Thoughts: This book is so adorable. I am already loving that one day I will be able to use it with my grandchildren. It is a hard back padded type cover. The pages are board book style with beautiful illustrations, brightly colored and full of the most adorable farm animals you've ever seen. They will capture your heart, as well as you child's.  Each page consists of a different animal going to sleep, written in poetic style with the animal sound and name of the animal at then end of each prose. The last page affirms how God made all these animals and "me too"! The child will learn about ...
