Unwilling to give up the girl he loves, he devises a plan to elope--believing once their marriage is sanctioned by God that Lord Stainsby will be forced to accept their union. However, as Nolan struggles to learn the ways of the aristocracy, he finds himself caught between his dreams for tomorrow and his father’s demanding expectations.
Forces work to keep the couple apart at every turn, and a solution to remain together seems farther and farther away. With Nolan’s new life pulling him irrevocably away from Hannah, it seems only a miracle will bring them back together.

My Take:
Look out! Just the cover itself is intriguing, never mind the story- Handsome young stable hand, innocent beautiful kitchen maid, past secrets, danger, and much more.
I was caught up in the story before the end of the first few chapters. Nolan, one of the main characters has always wondered who his father is. Yet, the only way he will find out is through heartache, and will he be happy in the knowing? I admire his faith, how he seeks God's guidance in his decisions, and yet he is not just the "hero", but also human as he second guesses himself and isn't sure what to do.
Hannah also has an admirable side, and her faith is well grounded. She is courageous and patient when her life is rocked, and just as any young girl, she is also vulnerable and emotional.
As in any book, there's the one you love to "hate", Lord Stainsby, who wears his title with arrogance and pride, and yet somewhere deep within, there may just be a better man.
Tie all these, along with many other characters together, and you'll have a great read you won't want to put down. Though not as suspenseful as some, the author keeps you wondering and wanting to turn the pages until the very end.
I would certainly recommend this book , and hope to read others by Susan in the future. I was blessed with my copy of this book by Bethany House and the Litfuse Publicity Team. I was not asked or required to review it in a positive manner.
