My Take:
Elizabeth George has been a favorite author of mine for a number of years. Her books occupy places on mine and my daughter's shelves. She has such wonderful insight into God's word and the hearts of girls and women.

When I saw she had a devotional for girls out on the book of James, I was thrilled. We have been studying James in school this year, and my children have been memorizing it. I thought this would be a great asset for my daughter to use to refresh her memory and work through during the summer.

As always I was not disappointed. Elizabeth speaks straight to the heart with words my daughter needs to hear. She speaks as a friend, giving insight and encouragement for daily life.

This book is a Bible study with the Scriptures printed right in along with the chapter, although I would highly recommend looking them up in your own Bible, you know... just to see they ARE there. (And it's good practice) There are several places she gives additional verses to look up. Each chapter includes sections by the author to read, fill in the blanks, and ends with a look inside your heart and a heart check up, a suggested prayer, and gems from James.

It is written in an easy conversational style, in a way my daughter can understand and relate. I am so excited for her to have this devotional and work through it.

I received a copy from Harvest House Publishers. I was not asked to review in a positive manner. All opinions are my own.

They will capture your heart, as well as you child's.  Each page consists of a different animal going to sleep, written in poetic style with the animal sound and name of the animal at then end of each prose. The last page affirms how God made all these animals and "me too"! The child will learn about

My Body's Mine helps children learn they have the rights to their body. Told through rhyme from a child's point of view this book on boundaries empowers each child to say no when others approach them in ways that make them uncomfortable. It also gives clear instructions on what to do if they are approached in an unwanted manner. The questions at the end of the book provides an easy transition for counselors and parents to open a discussion to prevent abuse or to further explore if abuse has occurred.
