Summer Fun

Ahhhh Summer!!
This summer has felt like a whirlwind - rushing in and twirling a bit and rushing out.
We have had a wonderful time, full of adventure, time with family and friends, traveling and much more.
I thought, on our 7000 mile cross country trip I was going to get all kinds of books read and reviews written and have time to tell my tale.
NOT!

The trip was amazing, the sights incredible, the reading just didn't happen. The first day, I ended up car sick, and kind of decided I would just enjoy the view. The change in scenery across the US is pretty awesome to behold.  And when you have a chance to spend time with family that you rarely see, who wants to have their nose in a book? Maybe when I was younger, but now... time is too short, life too precious, books can wait!
I think I may have completed a total of one or two books this summer tops!
Hence why you haven't seen me here much on the blog.
But on the flip side, we made memories that will last a life time.
But now... even though summer is not officially over, we are ready to get back to business, crack open the books. (kids for school - me for blog) and start on the next adventure.
I will be spending a few weeks playing catch up with all the reading I am behind on, so you should be hearing from me pretty frequently.
And maybe on occasion I will slip in a little bit of the fun we had this summer.

I hope you have had a blessed and wonderful summer also.
I would love to hear about it.

The pages are board book style with beautiful illustrations, brightly colored and full of the most adorable farm animals you've ever seen. They will capture your heart, as well as you child's.  Each page consists of a different animal going to sleep, written in poetic style with the animal sound and name of the animal at then end of each prose. The last page affirms how God made all these animals and "me too"! The child will learn about

My Body's Mine by Kayla Marnach

My Body's Mine helps children learn they have the rights to their body. Told through rhyme from a child's point of view this book on boundaries empowers each child to say no when others approach them in ways that make them uncomfortable. It also gives clear instructions on what to do if they are approached in an unwanted manner. The questions at the end of the book provides an easy transition for counselors and parents to open a discussion to prevent abuse or to further explore if abuse has occurred.
