My Take
I was impressed with this book from the start. I could hardly put it down. It's probably the best book I have read in a while that has really just kept my attention. I love a good mystery, especially from a detective point of view. This book was totally cool with all the suspect interviews and putting the pieces together like a puzzle. I enjoyed the "gaming" aspect of the plot too, it kind of reminded me a little of the game of clue, a game I like to play.

I probably had a good idea of 'who-dun-it" by about midway through. However, the author is good, and I kept second guessing as she threw in twists here and there to throw off the reader. I loved how the aspect of faith is woven in through the story line with the main character. He really had a lot on his plate and yet he hung in there and demonstrated mercy and grace.

I was going to have my twelve year old son read the book, because I thought he would really enjoy it, but I haven't decided for sure yet whether to allow it or not due to the mature subjects the book covers such as adultery, abortion, etc..

There may have been one or two places the story line was a little unbelievable but not enough to deter my enthusiasm. The only other thing that might have bothered me a little was it seemed to take longer than usual to wrap up at the end.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good mystery. I am giving it five stars. I believe I have found a new author to read!

I received this book courtesy of Barbour Publishing. I was not asked to give a positive review and all opinions are my own.
