Celebrate Advent with Prepare Him Room

Guide kids and their families into the heart of Christmas with this gospel-focused, four-week Advent curriculum.
Prepare Him Room by children’s best-selling author Marty Machowski takes a biblical, theological approach to the Old Testament promises and New Testament fulfillment in Christ in a way kids can understand.
With age-appropriate instruction and activities for three different learning levels—preschool, lower elementary, and upper elementary—Prepare Him Room builds gospel hope and enduring theological depth into each child’s celebration of Christmas.
It's a tool for families hoping to focus on Jesus during the Christmas season. Parents, teachers, and caregivers will find a whole Christmas story—from the prophecies concerning Jesus to his birth, death, and resurrection; culminating in the return of Jesus.
Readers will have the resources necessary to counter the commercialism, materialism, and sentimentalism our culture celebrates each Christmas.
Prepare Him Room will change the way kids and families at your church celebrate Christmas. The corresponding curriculum Prepare Him Room is sold separately. Challenge your family to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas.

My Take:
Every year, I try to read an Advent book with my children during the Christmas season to keep our hearts focused on the true reason for celebrating - Christ's Birth.
I was so excited to get this book, geared towards families celebrating together. I found it to be very interesting and entertaining and can't wait to share it with the kids.

One thing I have had trouble with in the past is reading something every day. Occasionally, things come up and it is just nigh unto impossible to do it daily and then I get behind and can't seem to get caught up by Christmas. This book has only a few readings a week, so if you can't read daily then it works out fine.
Along with the bible stories, crafts, and Christmas carols, there is a special story that has multiple parts to read - one for each of the four weeks with a wrap up on Christmas day! I love that!  The kids need a little cliffhanger to keep them interested.

I believe this book also has a corresponding curriculum that could be used for church classes, as well as, a cd with the songs mentioned in the book.

I can't wait to start this with my kids in a couple weeks.
I was blessed with a copy courtesy of New Growth Press. I was not asked to write a positive review and all opinions are my own.
