My Thoughts:
This book was a bit of a puzzle to me, and I can't really decide how I feel about it, so I am going to do my best to keep my review short, sweet and to the point.
What I liked about the book:
The plot- it was a pretty good story line, with a bit of intrigue and mystery surrounding it. The characters - I admired Mrs. Dowd, the widow who lost her daughter to Georgia Tann, because of her spunk and perseverance. She was determined to find her daughter no matter what the cost. Mr Percy was also a leading character who took great risks at the cost of his own personal detriment. Georgia Tann, who of course is based on the real life character, was a villain you just despise.
However, I guess it was the writing style or something that just didn't jive for me. Everything moved at a very quick pace, and some of it just wasn't believable. I won't pick the book apart, but there just seemed to be loopholes in the story, and I found those made it a bit less realistic. Maybe with a bit more added detail it would have flowed better for me.
I received this book courtesy of Barbour Publishing and was not required to post a review. All opinions are my own.
