Are You Looking for the Door of Opportunity?

The last few days I have been reading in, one of my favorite books, the book of Colossians. As soon as I read today's prompt, this verse immediately came to mind:

"Pray for us, that God may open a door of opportunity for our message, so we may proclaim the mystery of Christ..."
Colossians 4:3

Pray for an open door
to share the message of Jesus!
Wow!
What better open door could we ask for?

The verse prior says:
Devote yourselves to prayer
 being watchful and thankful.

The verse that follows says:
Pray the I may proclaim it clearly.... as I should...
Be wise in the way you act towards outsiders;
make the most of every opportunity.

Am I devoted to praying for open doors of opportunities to witness?
The world needs Jesus!
Am I watchful, so I can take make the best use of an open door that arises?
Am I aware when an open door presents itself?
Am I prepared to share my faith?
Am I thankful?
If I am a regular complainer, I may be hindering doors from opening He may be giving me?
How can I share the message of God's love when I myself may appear not to believe,
because the message I am sending by my ungratefulness drowns out His message?

Today
I choose
to pray
for
open doors.
To be
Watchful
Thankful
and
Wise

I hope today you will do the same!

I would love to hear about an open door you have experienced lately.

  1. Thank you for this spot on post. What a perfect thing to pray for.

I must constantly work not to turn a simple door into an unattainable project.

  2. I love the reminder of those verses you shared. I do need to be praying for those open doors of opportunities to be able to share about Jesus. I love the reminder to be watchful for it too. Sometimes, we are so busy to think about being watchful or prayerful for that chance to witness to others. Thanks so much for the great the "food for thought" this morning! Blessings, Carrie
