My Thoughts:
Cute, Attractive, Colorful, Bright and Cheery are all words that describe this fun kids devotional. I can't wait for Christmas to come so I can send one to my grandson who just recently got his own copy of the VeggieTales Bible. They are going to make a great pair. The other cool thing about this devotional is that it comes in a girls and boys version, so you get to choose. I chose the boy version.
I found it to be the perfect small size for any kid. (7 x 5 in) Each page sports a colorful veggie tale character, along with the verse, devotional, thought for the day and prayer. It contains 365 devotionals, but instead of being dated by calendar date, they are dated Day 1, Day 2, and so on. Actually I like it that way, because you could start on any day of the year with Day 1.
The Scripture verses used come from a variety of versions. I believe they have chosen the easiest version in which to understand that particular verse. The "thought for the day" sections consist not only of ideas to think about, but also challenges to do, such as: "Write a note to a friend to say how important he or she is to you." Or "Practice telling the truth all the time this week. See how you feel." I love how these little contemplations will get the kids to pondering and acting on God's Word. The back of this devotional also has various Scriptures the kids are encouraged to memorize.
I really liked the devotional as a whole. I think any young child, especially if they enjoy some Veggie Tales, will be happy with it. It is written in a fairly easy to read format for kids who are consistently able to read on their own, otherwise a parent reading to them would be a better choice.
I received a copy of this devotional from FLYBY Promotions in exchange for my honest opinion. I am in no way required to review it positively. No other compensation has been given.

ReplyDeleteSweet giveaway. We do a little of both at devotional time. The girls read on their own with age appropriate books. Other times I read to them. dmatthews38751 (at) yahoo (dot) com
