Edge of Your Seat Adventure by Dani Pettrey

The Killing Tide
A Corpse That Only Leads to Secrets.
An Old Flame with Danger Written all over Her.
Things Are about to Get Very Complicated.

When one Coast Guard officer is found dead and another goes missing, Coast Guard Investigative Service special agent Finn Walker faces his most dangerous crime yet. His only clues are what little evidence remains aboard the dead officer's boat, and the direction the clues point to will test Finn and the Guard to their limits.

The already volatile situation is complicated even further by the arrival of Gabby Rowley--Finn's boss's sister and an investigative reporter with unrelenting questions about the crime. Now that she's returned, the tug on Finn's heart is strong, but with the risks she's taking for her next big story, he fears she might not live through it.

Thrown together by the heinous crime, Finn and Gabby can't ignore the sparks or judgments flying between them. But will they be able to see past their preconceptions long enough to track down an elusive killer, or will they become his next mark?

My Thoughts:

This book stays true to Dani's amazing writing style and fast paced, keep you on the edge of your seat plots. She had me hooked from chapter one. Who doesn't want to read about old flames, handsome coast guard surfers, and other great characters.  Dani packs this one full of action and its hard to put it down, because something new is always happening and before you know it the story is over.

I loved Finn. He seemed like such a great guy! Not only was he handsome, brave, strong, but he was also thoughtful and caring. The "perfect" hero! Gabby is a bit daring, taking lots of risks and almost daring something to happen to her. I guess that's what it takes to be a  great reporter. She definitely has guts and doesn't back down from a challenge. As a matter of fact, she keeps everyone hopping. I enjoyed their sparks and a bit of resistance. The other characters in the book were also enjoyable.

And of course, as always Dani puts a touch of faith in the midst to help us grow a little while taking us on an adventure. That's what makes a great book for me! I would certainly recommend this one if you just want a fun, edge of the seat, weekend read!

I received this book free courtesty of Dani and the Publisher. I wasn't asked to write a positive review. I was pleased to read it, and all opinions are my own.
